Wow, it’s in the wee hours of the morning and I am still on cloud 9 after completing our first SDE as Grandeur Films. I don’t know how to explain it, nor can I describe this euphoria I am feeling. All I know, is that I am proud of the team, and to see it evolve from the day is some what of a MIND Explosion *kaboom*.
Firstly to describe a SDE, it is basically a video that is edited on the same day of the event. The man power involved, as well as the stress of the day can be quite overwhelming. Normally a client would receive their edited highlights of their event some point of time later, however with a SDE, the client is able to view it on the same day.
So many things can go wrong, and to many it would be a unique experience. It’s a once in a lifetime thing. Imagine the emotions, laughter, tears that go through a particular wedding day, and to see it on screen while you are still in that euphoric state, cannot be described. It has to be felt.
It is one of the main reasons why at Grandeur Films, our main goal is to be one of the best in the business at producing such a stressful product. I personally must give thanks and appreciation to all the family, friends etc who have supported us. Particularly, I’d like to thank Santo from the Papercranes team for passing on his knowledge and for us to take heed is the ultimate compliment.
Santo and his team, are arguably Australia’s pioneers in wedding SDE’s, and have for a number of the years been the best in the business in this field. We highly regard their work, and have always been inspired. In Philippines, all wedding videos, must be SDE’s. Brides find it a must, and will even move dates to book a particular cinematographer.
Hopefully we can attest to not only our peers in the industry, but to potential clients on what an amazing experience it is. To Vechie and Can, thank-you for giving us the opportunity to bring this to life. It was an amazing day, one we will remember for a long time. They usually say, you will never forget your first.
